Mr. Breitsprecher's Library Videos Home

Easy Video 1-2-3I began making videos to support my library lessons in the fall of 2007. This was a new concept. You could not find these type of library media videos online at the time.

I have found that videos and multimedia are excellent ways to engage children, teens, and adults for all kinds of learning.  They support book selection and recreational reading. I worked closely with my building principal to achieve this.  (NOTE:  Please click HERE to see a reference letter from her).

Following the GANAG lesson format, the videos I produced were integrated into each week's library lessons across the school, usually in the "Attention" component of the lesson plan.  I also shared these videos in lessons at schools I was contracted to serve through CESA 6 in Spring 2008.

You'd be amazed at how students excitedly came into the library for weekly lessons (I always insist on "walking feet"), sat down in an orderly fashion, and immediately settled down, ready to learn -- what we called "All 5 Right".  Your students will love these videos too and they will make structuring library lesson easier.

I was not a new teacher when I started producing library media videos, having previously taught Business Education classes.  You can see my original Business Ed web HERE.  The latest version, Keying Kids (K-6th Grade), is HERE.  I created a new high school version, My Business Ed, and it is HERE.

Much to my amazement, the first library video I created, Dewey Bears, earned me standing ovations from each lower elementary class I showed it to!  At that moment, I knew there were many exciting possibilities.

My building principal, who was honored by Wisconsin's DPI "Principal of the Year" in 2010, was extremely supportive of my new ideas and the integration of multimedia into traditional storytime and book check-outs.  Our library had a beautiful large-screen display to show them on.

Please take a look and see for yourself.  The links on the left navigation bar will identify and then allow easy access each video by its content.  You can share with your children or students on SmartBoards, in computer labs, on tablets, or even using smartphones.

These videos are featured periodically on the award-winning television show, Club TNT too.  Please check back periodically, as I am producing and adding more!
