Stepping Stones Blog

September 6, 2006
Bill Breitsprecher, Associate Professor, Beginning Algebra
Welcome to UW-Whitewater! And welcome to our Stepping Stone's Community Blog. I have been working with LaMont Weaver, Director of Academic Standards, to organize some resources and start to build an "online community." What we have put together so far is a simple, humble start, but we hope to continue to work together to expand the reach and build some Comm-Unity on campus.

When I think about starting a new routine, be it at school, a job, or in my personal life; I need to remember that getting comfortable with new places, new faces, and different ways of doing things is the key to my success. Likewise, we are sure that everyone in the Stepping Stone's Community can find interesting, exciting, and rewarding challenges here at UW-W - getting comfortable with campus life and getting to know the support services available will surely help students be successful.

Do you have any questions, concerns, or ideas about how we can help you make a comfortable transition to campus life? How can we help you reach your goals and dreams this semester? Please email me any comments, thoughts, concerns, or ideas about how we might more effectively create "connections" on campus. (breitspw@uww.edu). I can't promise anything, we do not have any resources to support this Web outside of the time people are willing to donate.  Thanks!

When a group or association has a tool for communication, their voice is heard with greater ease. We are each other's most valuable resource - that is true in all communities. It is true here at UW-Whitewater. Good luck in your studies this semester. I look forward to having an opportunity to work with you!
