January 13, 1955. DAILY HERALD (ARLINGTON HEIGHTS) -
Miss Nancy Atkinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loid Atkinson of Portage,
Wis, were united in marriage with Paul Breitsprecher, son of Mrs.
William L. Breitsprecher of Arlington Heights, Monday, December 27 at 10
a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church, Portage.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore
a fitted gown of white lace over traditional satin with a scooped neckline. Her fingertop-length
veil was fastened to a crown of
pearls and she carried a bouquet of double camellias, stephanotis, and lilies
of the valley.
Her two sisters the Misses Pat and Peg Atkinson of
Portage were bridesmaids as well as Miss Sarah Leonard of Chicago.
Acting as maid of honor was Miss Mary Lee Skaff of Hinsdale. All
her attendants wore deep red velvet and tulle dresses and carried white
muffs decorated with red poinsettias.

Best man was William Mulligan of Portage and the
bridegroom's brother, David Breitsprecher of Arlington Heights was head
usher. Other ushers were the bride's brother, Loid Atkinson Jr. of
Pittsburgh and John Legg of Portage.
Following the wedding, a breakfast was served to the
wedding party and the 150 guests at Hotel Raulf in Portage. The
couple spend their honeymoon in Madison.
Mr. and Mrs. Breitsprecher are now at home in Arlington
Heights at 206 W. Campbell Ave. Mrs. Breitsprecher teachers at Our
Lady of the Wayside Catholic school and Mr. Breitsprecher is employed in
Evanston with Rotary International.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding included the
bridegroom's mother, his sister Mrs. Robert Hawley and her children,
Roberta, Ricky, and Ginny and his brother David. Other guests were
from Pittsburgh, Waupaca, Sheboygan, Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Fond du
Lac.
